I learned of a system over the weekend that sounded like a great idea: The workbox system. I have not read the book, but I just put into place what seems logical to me at this time in my life. We're planning to move in the next few months, and I really needed something to help Micah work independently. Lately, he's "bored" all the time, but this kept him busy and excited! I bought these boxes at Walmart for $5. Then I filled each one with an activity that he could do (basically) independently.The first few were paper work, but others had a puzzle or play doh.
He's concentrating very hard on that glue.
Elizabeth missed her playmate, but finally found a puzzle to grab her attention.
He loves puzzles.
He was in charge of putting everything back in the box when finished, and picking the next box.
A GREAT day!
Micah roared through the 5 boxes in no time.
